SEKSTETT, Gjerstad, Skaset, Grenager, Tafjord, Mølstad, Moe
SEKSTET is comprised of musicians with backgrounds ranging from a host of anomalies of contemporary music, jazz, noise and improv.
Their debut CD is ready in the autumn of 2010 and is the result of their first meeting at the Henie Onstad Art Centre in the summer of 2009.
Presence, interaction and openness creates the foundation for the music, that ranges from raw friction, dense sound to strong rhythmic embossed stretches.
The musicians are known for both electric and acoustic projects such as Spunk, Frode Gjerstads Circulatione Totale, Art Directors, Sult, Bay/Oslo Mirror Trio, MOE, Femail, Lemur and countless other constellations.
But in SEKSTETT they all leave their cables and machines at home in favor of a pure acoustic expression.
